Emtpy Jar Productions, LLC now has a wordpress blog.  It has most of the same content as this blog, sans all personal material. There's is some exclusive content, however (like my 3D work). I feel it's necessary to have some motivation to visit one site over another. I think there's some art on my Deviant Art page that I haven't posted here.

The primary goal of the new site is to have a website that's more employer-friendly. It's meant to achieve this in function as well and appearance.  Art is arranged gallery-style, making it easier to see everything together.

Old Comix

Parrot Me this, Parrot me that........

Here's yet another project from the Anthem graveyard. These mascot designs were for a language learning service of some sort called "Parrot Me."  In my initial approach, I referenced a lot of sports teams with birds for mascots.

This was the final result. However, it was brought to my attention that the character needed to be more cute, yet intelligent.

Not to mention, green.

At one point, the word "mature" was also thrown into the mix. Then someone jokingly said that I should reference Golgo 13, so I whipped up a did that did just that.

These are the last incarnations of the character, before the project imploded.  I went in more of an Einstein direction with these, hoping to capture that "cute & fun, yet wise & mature" aspect.  That also led me to reference Doremon, a character that fits that description to the tee.

What I took form Doremon, in this concept were his proportions and minimal attire.

Sudden Scribbles, Solidification Pt. 4

I stole a couple of hours tonight to work on this. Out of all the outside work I've been doing, I figure I should take SOME time to work on personal stuff. Tonight I got panel 2 a little closer to completion.

In search of Terratherium

I got a whole slue of sketches from that old Monster Hunter contest.  The contest was a bust, but it was fun playing around with designs.

I was primarily trying to fuse a Galapagos Tortoise with a Giant Sloth. I also tried referencing snapping turtles, armadillos, as well as prehistoric armadillos.

I wasn't sure of what to call it, so I took the Giant Sloth's scientific name Megatherium and switched out the "Mega" for "Terra".
